As revealed by the title of this post, Conjuration (Kid Sensation #9) is now available! As usual, it was a labor of love, but I’m happy to finally have the book out there.
To be honest, it was actually published 2 days ago. However, I usually try to wait until both the Kindle and print versions are available before announcing. I tried to do that this time but ran into a snag.
In essence, the Kindle version went through the publication process without a hitch. It fact, it seemingly got published at light speed: it felt like I had barely hit “Publish” before the book was available. (In fact, I was in the process of posting a message on my Patreon page stating that I had just uploaded it when I noticed that the status of the book was listed as “Publishing.”)
The print version was a different story. I went through the usual process and thought everything was fine, then yesterday Amazon kicked it back to me saying that there were issues. In short, Amazon said the title I had listed for the book – Conjuration: A Kid Sensation Novel (Kid Sensation #9) – did not match the title on the cover. Technically, they’re right; the “Kid Sensation #9” part isn’t on the cover. (They also said the entire title needed to be on the spine of the book, but we won’t go into that.) In truth, this was the second time I had this problem – the first being with Isolation (Kid Sensation #8). However, this title issue was never a problem until recently, although I assume it’s part of Amazon’s crackdown on keyword stuffing (which I actually talked about in a previous post).
In brief, it was a quick fix, but held up publication of the print version. That, in turn, led to a slight delay in me posting about the release. But as they say, all’s well that ends well. Ergo, publication issues aside, I hope readers enjoy the book.
Just bought it!! Just in time too. I have been struggling to find something tonread
LOL! Hope you enjoy it!
Finished. Now back to waiting for the next book.
Hope you enjoyed it, and I’ll try to get the next one out soon.
Any timeline for the audiobook? I need to time it so I can listen to Isolation again just beforehand!
Not yet, unfortunately. I’ve got to reach out and see how much capacity my narrator has.
Excellent Work!! I was just wondering about characters introduced previously not getting proper screen time. Please bring Dynamo in the next book. Thoroughly enjoyed myself reading the book.
Glad you enjoyed it. And yes, it’s difficult to give all the characters an appropriate amount of time in front of the camera. Unfortunately, it occasionally ends up being just a cameo (which is essentially what Dynamo had in Isolation), but the hope is that down the road more can be revealed.
Will this be released in audiobook format as well? Thank you for all of the great books!
Thanks so much; I’m glad you like my work. Yes, the plan is to release it in audio, but I haven’t touched base with my narrator yet. Plus, although many listeners may not be aware of it, there have been some issues recently with ACX/Audible which will hopefully get sorted out soon.
Just wondering if there has been any update on the audiobook issue? Don’t mean to be a pest, but I have a family member that loves your books as much as I do, but she suffers from dyslexia so the audio books are the only way she can enjoy them. 🙂 thank you again for the amazing books!
I’ve been wondering how many more books in the series are coming? I was wondering this because It was mentioned earlier in the series about his mother, can Jim even have children?
Jim can have kids, LOL. In fact, I posted an excerpt on my Patreon page where – in the future – an adult Jim and an unnamed woman are discussing a child they have together.
As to how many books there will be in the series, I always said I’d keep writing them as long as readers were interested. That said, there will be inflection points in the series, one of which will be coming up soon. Also, I’m eager to tell stories about adult Jim (I’ve even got a name picked out for him after he becomes too old for the “Kid” label), so I’m trying to figure out a way to get those out without giving too much away about Jim’s future. I’m juggling some ideas on that, so we’ll see how it plays out.
